Conversation-after the power struggle
This starts with a power struggle in the form of nitpicking over work processes. The conversation is that made by spectators of the struggle who are affected nonetheless when the titans come out to play. The department head(DH): is the problem not that people being at odds of the system? Boy:(In full blooded youth and with indignation)”surely not!”. The Problem lies with people not taking responsibility for their duties. In my view, the problem is that people at the top deflect criticism to the lower downs, because they can, whilst sidestepping real issues to prevent a change in the status quo. DH: Exactly, and that is the system. I agree with you from a theoretical standpoint. The truth however is that we work for them and nothing could come out of challenging them. I believe that in a system, the flaw is human relationship. The key than is to work on the relationships between people. If there is a good working relationship, there is stability and when there is this stability, people do not have a go at you. Boy: Fair enough, however your suggestions aims at masking the faults of the system, it keeps you in a safe place but the underlying problem remains. It changes nothing really… DH: NS is 2 years. You come you go. You change something, you go, it reverts. I’m going to be here for awhile. Trying to change things only causes instability and chaos. You just might get burned. Boy:(Thinking) I can see where this is going, play it save bring no trouble. DH:Do you understand what I am saying? Boy: Yup. Perfectly, can do. I’d rather be close to the birds than waste my life wishing I had wings
