Living for the weekends

food | weekends

Dinner at Whitebait&Kale I’d love to have actually shot the food we had this evening but finding myself in want of a DSLR, or to be honest any inspired or crazy behaviour to tog around a heavy camera wherever I go, an image of their website suffices. I can’t exactly say its the best place to have dinner, because it isn’t very friendly with the wallet, but I did enjoy my meal. I had the spaghetti with nz littleneck clams in martini bianco-garlic sauce. The clams were really good, firm and succulent without being sandy or overpowering, with a light taste of olive oil to it. The martini in the name was a little of a let down to be honest. I could taste no martini, and I’m an astute lover of the sweet liquour. Pongsy had a snapper pie which tasted rather good. Not too sure about the pastry, but there was generous servings of the snapper which was really tender, not unlike eating a fish steak. I can’t quite place how it tasted. (having had only a taste of it) End of the day, its a good place I guess to catch up with friends, but even more so when one spends five days in a jungle and the other five days in a cubicle. Quite rightly I’m not a food journalist.
