Musicals-thank god life isn’t one!

avenueq | musicals | psychotic drivel

Recently, I seemed to have an acute consciousness of the pervasive horrors which they call musicals. Perhaps its an awakening, or perhaps there just happens to be more of them screening. I cannot understand the concept of Musicals at all. Barring actually doing research on how they came about, I shall postulate it’s origins are rooted in Thailand. Yes, Thailand. Notice how the Thai Language sounds very much like singing as opposed to speech? Musicals are ridiculous in that their plot lines are hardly existent. They choose a random person and follow his life. They throw in situations that would never happen in real life, but they insist they do. Than to make it all overbearingly painful, they dance and sing about it. This is clearly a refutable point, but for the sake of my entry it shall be truth. Avenue Q is coming to Singapore. And People are talking about it, in fact a fair bit of them are telling me we ought to go for it. Well, perhaps it’d be easier to stomach, seeing  how their songs go something like “The internet was made for porn…” Yes. Harhar, funny. I’m sure mothers around the world would embrace the manner in which they dish out theater for family entertainment; the musical. Even so, I just do not think I’d be able to remain seated through hours (including intervals) of puppets dancing and singing. I so thought being Indian, with Bollywood; the dancing and singing would prepare me for this sort of tosh.
