The truth…
Trust the RAWK wizards to come up with the funnys. Why did Mascherano get so angry over Torres’s booking? Answer: Noo sirree..Masch wasn’t going to keep silent after his loverboy got kicked around like crazy the whole bloody match! No cards for Mancs?? Masch will not stand for this! Or maybe there was another reason? I have always said that Rafa behaves too much like a gentleman when it comes to referees. This is not Spain, and he should take a leaf out of the whiskey nose and Wenger’s book. Those 2 always get the better of the refs. Staying dignified and silent all the time won’t help your team, Rafa! Look at how Ferguson always get his way when he yells at the referees and especially when the game is at Old Trafford. He always get his way because of his prominence and status..and notice how he always shout down the microphone line that connects all the officials - he makes damn sure he scares the shit out of them and makes damn sure his players don’t get any cards. And it works. It’s dirty, but it works. Being nice doesn’t cut it in the BPL. The captions for the following photos are pure gold. I love this photo agency HAHA. (Photo by David Rawcliffe/Propaganda) Anyway, digress. There is a very obvious reason behind my decision not to publicise my gender on the football forums I frequent. Yes, internet provides you with anonymity, but gender barriers are not erased online - they work just like real life. The guys (not all, I have enjoyed some really great conversations with some of my male friends who have brains) always think that football is something ONLY THE GUYS can understand. So whatever the females say are crap to them. As always, they will go “Oh you only like Man Utd because of Ronaldo/Beckham..Oh you only like Liverpool because of Torres..Oh you only support AC Milan because of Kaka” Then the highly-intelligent males will proceed to degrade everything the females say and treat them as nothing more than frivolous comments. I have been observing this trend for a very long time and it’s really both interesting and disturbing at the same time. I have found that my posts on the forums often got fruitful replies while the posters who declared themselves as females often got totally ignored. To those males: football is not rocket science okay? Don’t think so highly of yourself. Any mere mortal who has enough interest in it will be able to understand it. It is not exclusive to males, so get off your high horse. It’s like saying all males don’t understand fashion because well.. they are males - and we all know this assumption is baseless and stupid. This doesn’t just apply to football of course..it applies to any male-dominated forums like technology forums…but the gender bias, to me, is the most serious in the football forums.. by far.
