FINALLY THIS SEMESTER IS OVER. Thank God! I seriously hate studying so bloody much and I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of it. I don’t really hate school or anything..but I just hate all the things that come along with it - not getting enough sleep…looking like crap…feeling like a loser when I get average scores..freaking out over whether I’m going to score well..blahblahblah. Anyway exams were okay and I’m hoping for results that will maintain my current CAP or hopefully push it up further. Randoms from the semester: Hitomi and me. She’s a uber kawaii and polite girl. She went “PEEE~SU” before we took the photo. Research project at school that lasted for a brain-killing 9 hours. There’s something I’m not very happy about for this project but this is not the place to whine about it. Hmm. Lesson learnt: Don’t ever try to trust anybody else again. Switch back to the mindset that only I, ME, MYSELF, am reliable. That old mindset worked, stick to it. Went for a shopping spree and movie after the exams. Caught “What Happens in Vegas”. Aww it’s such a brainless and fun rom com! It’s totally predictable and at times cliché, but it has a lot of funny moments - great for relaxing after studying continuously for 21 freaking days. Can Ashton Kutcher be more cute???????????????????????? I never really found him cute even though I used to watch Punk’d a lot, but he’s just so adorable in the movie! And Cameron Diaz’s legs are fabulous dannng. I actually ate this entire cup of cheese during the movie. Yay. I will probably miss this movie, along with Indiana Jones..and I’m pretty upset about it. Sex and the City has received a lot of rave reviews so I know I’m missing out on a great movie..grrrr. One of the few times in life… Took this off my wall today. SO SAD. Can’t wait till the next season starts again and I hope Spain wins Euro 2008. *** After doing over possibly 50-hour worth of research, I finally got myself a digital camera. Panasonic’s LUMIX FX-35/36! I bought it mainly because I wanted a wide-angle lens and I personally think it trumps the (overrated) Canon IXUS 860 IS. I did a blind test of two images - one by the 860 and one by the FX-35..and with my naked eye I felt that the FX-35 was better. However, I am a bit disappointed with the FX-35’s noise performance and audio recording. Well it’s not meant to be a video recorder anyway so I’ll let the audio thing go. It does record videos in High-Definition so that’s a major plus. Like all other companies, Panasonic used a fancy name “Venus Engine IV” for Lumix FX-35’s processor. It’s a smart marketing move because people who don’t bother reading much into details will buy into the fancy-sounding name..like Canon’s DIGIC IV III ICXXW whatever. Seriously, the names don’t mean much..just a word of caution. I really didn’t want a 10-megapixel camera because I feel that there’s not much added value. A 8-megapixel camera is more than good enough but I couldn’t find one that offered me a 25mm wide-angle…and Ricoh Caplio R7 (28mm) isn’t that popular so I had reservations about buying it. FX-35’s price is definitely kind of out of this world for a point-and-shoot camera though…SGD 599. But after playing with it thoroughly and discovering the amazing range of functions this little gem offers, the price is totally justifiable. I’m very happy I have been thinking about getting a good digital camera for years already and I just feel so relieve now. Finally! Yes, I got a Pink/Rose one. Naturally. Since I’m already talking about gadgets..I wanna talk about my Nokia XpressMusic 5610 mobile phone. I have been using it for about 4 months now and I’m immensely happy with it. As the name suggests, the selling point is its music playing capabilities. The speaker’s quality is great..it has totally replaced my mp3 player (which I sold away at a loss..grrr stupid shouldn’t have bought it) and I think it’s even better than an iPod. The sound quality (through headset) is awesome, and whatever the iPod does, my phone does better - and it’s A PHONE. IT’S BLOODY GRAND LAH. Mine is in blue..because I think the red one is pretty fug. Okay, there’s this thing I’m not happy about. It tends to go into emergency shut-down mode when too many buttons are pressed at the same time, and sometimes the loading speed can get a little slow since I have over 800 songs on it. But you know..I got the phone at a steal (I got $500 off) so I really shouldn’t complain much. It also comes with a superb 3.2 megapixel camera, built-in Oprah, and lots of other cool functions. Brilliant. I’m so terribly addicted to this song right now. Another Sweetbox gem that doesn’t make it to the mainstream radio stations.
